As the University of Ottawa moves toward an exciting new horizon, we are seeking an Executive Director, Development to provide strategic and operational leadership for the University’s fundraising initiatives. The incumbent will play a vital role in developing and stewarding long-term relationships between the University and a broad array of constituents and supporters to increase fundraising results that will enable continued progress of the University’s strategic goals. Reporting to the Vice-President, External Relations, and working in close partnership with our ten Faculties, the Executive Director will define, develop and provide leadership for fundraising activities in the areas of principal gifts, major gifts, planned giving, annual giving, regional giving, and corporate and foundation strategic partnerships. The new Executive Director will be responsible for planning and managing the largest comprehensive fundraising campaign in the history of the University of Ottawa, and will lead a team of three senior staff direct reports and a total unit currently comprised of thirty-six University Advancement professionals. The Western Ottawa Community Resource Centre (WOCRC) is a not-for-profit health and social service agency serving the west end of Ottawa (Goulbourn, Kanata and West Carleton and Nepean) We offer a vast array of community, health and social services and programs to benefit individuals of all ages and we partner with others to develop, provide and coordinate accessible community, health and social services for all members of our diverse communities. In order to prepare for the future, the WOCRC Board has determined the need to create a sustainable long term financial plan focussing on opportunities to reduce expenses and generate revenues. PURPOSE: WOCRC is looking for a fundraising consultant to conduct a capacity review of WOCRC to determine preferred options for WOCRC revenue generation including opportunities, barriers, factors critical for success, timing. The President & CEO will oversee all private-sector fundraising and sponsorship programs for the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM), and will be accountable for short and long-term planning associated with fundraising activities. This is an exciting era of transformation for the ROM, and this position is available due to the upcoming retirement of the incumbent in November 2014.
