Did you know that over 40 members of the AFP Ottawa Chapter have their CFRE designation. The most recent local CFRE's earned their certification in the spring and early summer of 2008. Each of the two certificate holders took part in an AFP Ottawa Chapter sponsored CFRE Study Buddies learning experience. Three other participants are writing this fall, 2008.

Your AFP Ottawa Chapter is committed to professional advancement and once again this year will be offering an AFP CFRE Study Buddies series of learning sessions, see attached document.

Here are six helpful books in different areas that are all recommended reading for the exam. Most can be ordered through the AFP Bookstore (www.afpnet.org/v_scstore.cfm) or on line at www.amazon.ca  Its worth noting that because of the increasing number of CFRE's within the AFP Ottawa Chapter, many members are able to borrow most books on the CFRE reading list through the _Study Buddies_ network of friends.

In 2006, the CFRE Exam moved to computer-based testing. In 2008 Candidates will be able to sit for two (2) remaining windows:

22 August -  13 September, application deadline 23 June, 2008

24 October- 15 November, application deadline 25 August, 2008

In 2009 the four (4) windows are:

6 March - 28 March, application deadline 2 January, 2009

5 June 5- 27 June, application deadline  7April, 2009

28 August - 19 September 2009, application deadline 26 June 2009

30 October - 21 November 2009, application deadline 28 August 2009.
