The AFP Ottawa Chapter Chamberlain Scholarship Program provides an exceptional opportunity for a local fundraising professional to gain extensive educational experience by attending the Conference, which is the largest gathering of fundraisers in the profession. It has become the premier resource for fundraisers to network, learn and discover new products and services. The AFP Foundation will provide a US$500 scholarship, which will be supplemented by CA$1,000 from the Ottawa Chapter, for the purpose of defraying expenses associated with the recipient's attendance at the AFP International Conference.
SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA:
AFP Ottawa Chapter will select its Chamberlain Scholar based on the following criteria, some of which are established by the AFP Foundation for Philanthropy:
- Candidate is employed as a fundraising professional or, if candidate is an executive director, a substantial amount of time must be devoted to fundraising.
- Candidate has never attended an AFP (or NSFRE) International Conference on Fundraising as a registered participant (unless as a member of the Conference Host Committee).
- Candidate agrees to complete and return an Evaluation Form about his or her experience to AFP International's Scholarship Committee.
- Candidate agrees to share experience and insights with AFP Ottawa Chapter members (e.g., via article in newsletter, etc.).
- Preference will be to candidates whose organization could not otherwise support attendance.
- Preference will be given to candidates who are members of AFP.
