"Philanthropy in Action" Photos Still Needed

(June 18, 2007) AFP is asking all members to email to the International Headquarters photographs of "philanthropy in action' – images that demonstrate the impact that charities and charitable giving have on people and communities.

The photos will be used for two separate projects. The first is a National Philanthropy Day® video that AFP is preparing for chapters use at their events. The video will introduce AFP, its scope and its impact on fundraising and philanthropy; discuss the history and impact of NPD, including the number of chapters celebrating NPD, number of people attending, etc. and demonstrate the real impact that philanthropy has on both the world and local communities. A key aspect of the video will be showing through pictures how philanthropy affects people everyday. The video will be available to chapters in September.

The second project is to provide photos for AFP's new International Headquarters in Arlington, Va. AFP has a number of photos related to association work, but would like to have pictures of members' organizations' activities, according to Paulette Maehara, CFRE, CAE, president and CEO of AFP.

The photos should be NON-branded (that is, without highly conspicuous organizational logos) but all organizations whose photos AFP uses will be recognized and acknowledged appropriately both in the video and at the International Headquarters.

Photos should be large scale, high resolution (a minimum of 300 dpi) and in either JPEG or TIF formats. They can be emailed to paffairs@afpnet.org. Questions can be directed to the same email address.
